27 on the 27th

It's been a birthday to remember. I turned 27 today and life is good. I'm married to the man of my dreams, 30 weeks pregnant with our first child - a son, and celebrating with family all weekend! Matt's family came today and my family comes tomorrow because the next big event for the weekend is our baby shower in Bowling Green! We are unbelievably blessed by our church family. They are throwing us, much like they throw every expectant couple, a baby shower and it truly is just that. From my experience of attending these showers, the church pulls together and literally showers you with thoughtful gifts that will make transition into parenthood that much easier. It's incredible.  For birthday festivities, beyond just looking forward to family arriving, Matt and I along with his mom and dad went to Garcia's for dinner and then Orange Leaf for dessert! It was perfect! Garcia's was delicious and Orange Leaf topped off the evening with just enough of something sweet

ch-ch-changes

Matt looked at me two nights ago while we were on our way home from a small get-together with our youth group and said "we have a lot  going on in the next couple months". Boy, is he right! The Turleys have been experiencing quite a few changes in a pretty short period of time. Obviously the biggest change for each of us was becoming "the Turleys" and what a sweet and welcomed change that was last year on May 5th! Neither of us could have seen what our near future held as husband and wife and it's been a beautiful thing to enjoy these twists and turns together. The first major change, that I can recall, came about 6 1/2 months into our marriage when we decided to chuck the birth control and see what happened...as if we didn't know what would happen! Ha Then, a couple short months after that, the fruit of that first major change was realized. A baby! At the end of January, almost 9 months into our marriage, we found out we would soon become parents. We

What's that you said, a minivan? Yes, please!

I have spent so much time on Autotrader in the last 2-3 weeks that I feel like I should be getting a pay check from them and Matt has probably logged more hours than me! It's crazy!  This all started when we babysat for a friend of ours who has an 8 month old. We had him on a Saturday night and took him, in our Corolla, to a softball game. The interesting thing was that the car seat would only go in the middle meaning neither front seat could go back very far. For me, not such an issue, but for my 6'0" husband who barely fits in the 'rolla as it is this would prove tricky if we had to ride like this day in and day out. Thus, the countless hours spent on Autotrader recently. We have decided to sell my beloved Corolla and buy a minivan! Yes, you read that correctly, a minivan.  Pick your jaw up off the floor and hang with me as I explain our logic. At first, we too were appalled at the thought, ha! Matt had, on many occasions, said we would never be minivan peop
